Dermalux™ LED Phototherapy

Dermalux™ LED Phototherapy is a non-invasive treatment that uses non-thermal, narrow band light energy to trigger natural intracellular processes, accelerating repair and renewal of the skin. It is available in our Liverpool clinic.

Utilising clinically proven Light Emitting Diode technology, Dermalux™ delivers excellent outcomes for a wide range of common skin concerns including irregular pigmentation, aging sights and acne. It also provides a step forward in the treatment of reactive and compromised skin conditions such as rosacea and wound healing, and inflammatory disorders such as psoriasis and eczema.

LED Phototherapy: restoring Liverpool’s glow.
Healthy skin cells are compromised and unable to renew themselves normally as a result of natural aging, skin disorders or trauma. Skin has the ability to absorb certain wavelengths (colours) of light; it can use them as a source of energy to initiate specific cellular functions for therapeutic effect. LED’s can artificially emit these specific light wavelengths to recharge the cells, energising them to heal quicker and rejuvenate faster. It is a natural biochemical process – similar to that of plant photosynthesis – known as photobiomodulation.

Clinically proven treatment from Lip Aesthetics Liverpool
LED Phototherapy delivers clinically researched wavelengths of light that initiate specific cellular reactions. These wavelengths delivered at a controlled energy level by Dermalux™ systems; the selected intensity and dose triggers for optimal photobiomodulation of target skin cells and tissue.

Red light at 633nm (nanometres, the measure of wavelength) will benefit all skin types and has a unique anti-inflammatory and rejuvenating effect on the skin. Near infrared light, still on the visible spectrum at 830nm, is the wavelength absorbed deepest by skin tissue. It works together with red light to synthesising collagen, elastin and growth precursors: counteracting and reversing skin damage and aging. The anti-bacterial action of blue light (at 415nm) is proven to be extremely effective in the treatment of acne and working to prevent future breakouts.

A unique feature of Dermalux™ is that all three wavelengths can be delivered either as individual treatments or concurrently in any selected combination, providing stimulation at a intercellular, cellular and tissue basis. Multiple skin concerns can be targeted in one clinic session for the best response.

LED Phototherapy does not use heat, trauma or chemicals to promote change in the skin and is therefore less invasive, providing one of the safest methods to treat all skin types (I to VI) without resulting downtime or long term thermal incidence. LED Phototherapy can also be undertaken alongside most medication and enables the effective treatment of reactive, compromised and sensitive skin ailments.

LED Phototherapy is also a procedure that works brilliantly when used adjacent to any existing skin treatments and products to enhance clinical outcomes. LED light can be applied post-treatment to reduce inflammation and redness, reduce healing time and reduce the risk of infection. It is also effective when used to prepare and strengthen the skin in as a prelude to invasive treatments that can result in skin inflammation or trauma.

Treatment times

Treatment times are short and the visible results are, in most cases, immediate; Dermalux™ instantly revives and improves dull, tired complexion. After just one session, skin is hydrated, smooth and radiant, with irritation and redness significantly reduced. A course of treatment sessions at our Liverpool clinic offers corrective and lasting improvement in the appearance and overall health of the skin.

Dermalux™ is an affordable option for clinically proven skin treatment, exclusively available in Liverpool at Lip Aesthetics.
